High Level Drama

Happy Hump Day, All!

Now, let’s not take that term – “hump day” – literally today!! It’s an adult joke that many of us over 18 have probably heard and used, perhaps, from time to time! With former CIA Director, Gen. Petraeus, and this “high level drama” involving two “other women” and four star General Allen, “hump day” might take on a new meaning! Okay, I’m done here. Imagine the new definition of “furious” as defined by Petraeus’s wife, Holly!?

Now, like I always say, “I ain’t no saint!”, and, I too have a few skeletons in my closet that some of you may even know about – who cares, right?!. I personally have found that the best way to heal an ailment is to expose it, perhaps, admit it to someone who may not judge. But at least, get it out into the open. Not only has this story been on every television news station in the USA, some foreign countries have probably aired this story as well. Not that anyone thinks that this is the first time something like this has happened in the course of human history, it is a pretty much “in your face” and “off the charts” type of scandal that gives us so much to talk about. The very last thing I would attempt to do is to unravel the pieces of the “Patraeus, Broadwell, Allen, Kelley” love square. Yet, it is undoubtedly one of the first major domestic issues that Pres. Obama must shed some light on. At the same time, since these two male figures, though Petraeus was appointed by Bush, hold high level ranks in our nation’s top organizations – both the CIA and FBI – some of the political fall out will undoubtedly get on Pres. Obama’s image as leader of the “free world”, so to speak.

“Oh! what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.” – Sir Walter Scott (Marmion,1808)

Here’s to hoping your hump day is scandal free ….
